Mrs. Claus, Elves, and Group Santa Acts
Offer Mrs. Claus, elves, or a group only when those people will actually show up, then hold the date the same way you hold Santa-only: a deposit, a confirmation that names who is coming, and a cancellation rule. A pair is two calendars and two wardrobes. It is not a rumor in the comments. If you cannot staff it, say so, so every inquiry stops asking. Put the hold in writing the way you would for a solo visit in Santa deposits, contracts, and cancellations.
Why the extra person needs a real hold
December calendars collide. Santa is free and Mrs. Claus has a work shift. An elf’s car dies. If you took a deposit for “the couple” and only one of you can walk in, you have a complaint and a refund argument. Name who is included before they pay. If the pair sells out, keep Santa-only visible. Hide the pair. Do not make families guess.
When a group act is the right product
Homes with several ages, HOA nights, and some corporate parties want more than one performer: someone to work the line while Santa sits, or a Mrs. Claus who can talk to shy kids. Mall sets often already staff elves; do not promise a crew the property did not hire. Match the offer to the job the way you would match mall, home, and corporate work.
A tea with Mrs. Claus and no Santa is a real product if you actually send her. Publish it as its own line. Do not hide it inside Santa’s About paragraph.
Price people, not a vague “add an elf”
- Santa alone — your base package.
- Santa and Mrs. Claus — two performers, two wardrobes, two calendars. That is not a $25 add-on.
- Elf or helper — useful for gifts, photos, and crowd control; still a person who has to drive and get paid.
- Full group — only if you actually show up as a group. Do not advertise four people and send one.
Travel and peak dates multiply. Two cars and a Christmas Eve window is a different invoice. Put both names on the confirmation, the deposit amount, and what happens if one person cancels. A deposit that covers Santa only does not hold Mrs. Claus.
How to book a pair without chaos
- List Santa-only and Santa-plus on the site as separate options with separate prices.
- Take a deposit that holds every person you promised.
- Confirm names, arrival window, and who works the photo line.
- If one performer drops, offer the solo package at the solo price or a different date. Do not silently send fewer people.
Venues may ask about screening for everyone in wardrobe. If only you have a current check, do not advertise a group to schools and malls. Homes for people you already know are a different conversation. The first time a stranger finds the pair on Google, treat it like a venue.
Show the group on the site
If Mrs. Claus is part of the brand, she belongs in the gallery and in the package list, not only in your About paragraph. Families searching her name should land on the same URL as Santa. That is part of what belongs on a Santa website, and it is a reason a dedicated site beats a single Instagram that only tags one person.
Photos should show the people who arrive. A stock elf from a catalog next to a real Santa is how the night feels like bait. If the elf is a teenager in the family, say that only if they will be there. If they have exams that week, they will not be there.
Availability is the hard part: two calendars have to both be free. Publish “Santa only” and “Santa + Mrs. Claus” as separate options so a sold-out pair does not hide an open solo date.
Peak nights multiply the problem. Christmas Eve with two cars is a different product than a Tuesday living room with Santa alone. If the elf is only available weekends, do not sell a weekday group. Put the constraint on the page before the first email, the same way you put the deposit amount.
